Richard Curtis has won a $25,000 (£14,000) prize for The Girl in the Cafe, his TV film set against the backdrop of a G8 summit.
Curtis was one of a number of writers honoured at the annual Humanitas Prize awards, which recognise work that helps “liberate, enrich and unify society”.

On the officlal Stormbreaker site you can now see a first trailer for the film. You can spot Bill Nighy, as Mr. Blunt for a short moment.

Bill Nighy has signed to star in Australian director Stephan Elliott (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) Easy Virtue, a screenplay based on Noel Coward’s play, “Easy Virtue”. The play is one of Coward’s early works and is a melodrama. Alfred Hitchcock made a silent movie version of it in the 20’s.
The project is “in-developtment”.
