When visiting Elle magazine’s 16th annual Women In Hollywood tribute:

Someone just asked me if I was a friend of Keith Richards,” Nighy said before presenting to Blunt. “I said, ‘No, I just look like I’m a friend of Keith Richards.’ ”

The 59-year-old actor made the confession at the Hollywood premiere of his new animated adventure Astro Boy – a film about a young robot created by a scientist in the image of the son he lost.

Bill revealed he probably wasn’t the best person to judge if the film’s dark plot twists were a lot for audiences to deal with.

“It’s not like anyone is going to lose any sleep, I don’t think,” the actor joked.

“Mind you, I am the man that was carried out of Bambi! They had to put me to bed after the forest fire, so what am I saying?”
