Bill Nighy supports RSPCA’s firework campaign
Bill supports the RSPCA’s firework campaign that should make people aware of the distress fireworks causes to animals. With Bonfire Night coming up in the UK this weekend this seems an important issue.
In a new radio ad, David Schneider is trying to put earplugs in his cat’s ears to protect it from firework noise. Bill tells him using earplugs on animals is ‘stupid’ and instead asks listeners to text ‘BANG’ to the RSPCA at 60022 for better advice on how to help animals.
Bill said: “I’m delighted to support the RSPCA’s fireworks campaign and I hope the ad will help remind people that fireworks frighten thousands of pets. This is a huge problem, and I hope everyone will do what they can to help. The best thing people can do is go to an organised public display instead of holding their own at home - and encourage the organisers to use lower noise fireworks.”
The RSPCA radio ad will be broadcasted between 1 and 5 November on commercial radio in the UK.
Bill himself is the owner of 2 dogs, Smokey a rescue dog and Nelly, a posh terrier.
