The latest news on Valkyrie is that they have begun shooting and that the release date (for now-uh) for the film is set to 08-08-08.
The movie is scheduled for a 70-day shoot in Europe. Co-star Bill Nighy, when asked about the Tom Cruise controversy said, “I ignore all this stuff. And I don’t think it will affect the cast one bit. ‘Valkyrie’ is a heroic tale that deserves to be told.”

Does anyone have a clue as to what role Bill is scheduled to play in this movie?
@Erin: I still haven’t been able to find out, but will update if I do. There is definitely a lot of talk going on about Valkyrie.
There certainly is a lot of chatter, good and bad, which I suppose is expected with a movie like this. I can only hope that the writers stay true to history no matter how unpleasant it might be.

Bill Nighy is Good actor….
I’ll see the film because aside from Bill, there are some fantastic actors in this one and yes, the story deserves to be told…but GOD, how I loathe Tom Cruise. It’s not just my personal beliefs about Scientology…it’s that he’s such an arrogant man with delusions of grandeur.
Bill will be playing the part of General Friedrich Olbricht in the movie Valkyrie.
