Bill Nighy: His tentacles can reach for any role
“It is quite something that he has an emotional journey,” Nighy says. “I almost get a love scene, and for a squid that’s very good.”
Nighy glibly points out he also costarred in last year’s Notes On A Scandal, another against-Davy-Jones-type part. “I got to play a regular person with trousers and shoes in a movie,” he says. “And I was married to Cate Blanchett, which was more than I could expect.”
