Bill Nighy’s special kinship with freaks of nature

Interesting interview with Bill Nighy about, of course, Pirates but it also mentions that Bill is flying to Tanzania to lobby the G8 conference.

In working with Curtis, who wrote “The Girl in the CafĂ©” in part to bring attention to the problems of world poverty, Nighy too has been moved to “help a bit.” Over the years, he has participated in Comic Relief, Curtis’ annual fundraising event. “But after all I am a British actor and that’s part of the job,” he says.

TANZANIA?? God I hope his jabs are up to date…

God bless him…he really does care about these issues. It’s very inspiring to see his dedication.

I think it’s incredibly cool that he is doing this. I am sure they will make sure it is a safe trip.

But isn’t the 2007 G8 in Germany? Perhaps he is going to Tanzania to see the deplorable conditions for himself? I commend him for his bravery…I don’t know if I could handle seeing that myself.

He will be going with Oxfam, so I’m sure he will be in good hands. I, too, commend his humanitarian interests and good works.

Aside from the LA Times, there was another newspaper interview article yesterday or the day before where he mentioned about an Oxfam trip in relation to this. Sorry, I can’t remember where it was anymore. Here’s the related site link:
