Bill Nighy’s Golden Globe acceptance speech

Here is Bill Nighy’s speech:
Thank you very much.
I’d like to thank everybody for this.
I’ve apologized to Robert Duvall, ehrm, it seems to crazy to me.
But I used to think that prizes were damaging and divisive until I got one.
And now they seem sort of meaningful and real.
I like to thank everybody involved in Gideon’s Daughter, it was a big deal for me.
I’d like to thank Miss Emily Blunt, who you’ve already honoured this evening.
I particularly like to thank Miss Miranda Richardson, who starred in the film, who is, as you don’t need me to tell you, one of the most wonderful actresses currently operating in the world. And I thank her.
A big hand for Miranda please.
And I like to thank Stephen Poliakoff, the man who wrote and directed the film. He is the most remarkable writer, and the most wonderful director. I’ve worked with him on several occasions, it’s a great honour and I am very proud to be associated with the show.
And I accept this award on his behalf and on behalf of BBC America.
Thank you everybody, big up.

Well don't worry some of the dullest people in the world are in this room. They are gold medalists in the boredom olympics. Anything you say will be more interesting than anything they have ever said.
Bill will read Dracula!
