Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. That’s the official name of the Golden Globe Bill Nighy received for his outstanding performance as Gideon Warner in Stephen Poliakoff’s Gideon’s Daughter at this years Golden Globes held in Hollywood yesterday.

This is Bill Nighy’s first Golden Globe, and his second nomination after having been nominated for his role in The Girl In The Cafe last year.

Emily Blunt who played Gideon’s daughter in the same film won best supporting TV actress for her role.

“I have already apologized to Robert Duvall… I used to think that prizes were damaging and divisive… until I got one… and now they seem sort of meaningful and real.”
