I listened to the programme when I was in the car heading towards Folkstone (Eurotunnel) and it was a beautiful Kent summer evening. Dearly I would love to get my hands on a copy of this programme. Having written three times to the BBC, I have received no response. I would love to have this as a podcast or even sent to me as an MP3. PLEASE! Anyone who knows how I can obtain this programme - let me know! Cheers, Graeme

Yes, Bill expresses a lot of feeling in those poetry readings. He's sensitive in their interpretation. A rare talent to have when it comes to poetry. It's not just words, it's an emotion. Very well done.

I was actually quite touched by the way Bill read this, really very, I don't know if passionate is the right word for it, but very very beautiful. This is not reading a poem, this is performing a poem.
And I love the poem too, it's beautiful.

Just listened to this and Bill does Cavafy proud. He reads the poems in a natural voice, which is wonderful. (Too often one goes to poetry readings to hear this weird sing-songy delivery that some poets seem to think is de rigueur for verse. Not at all!)

But why, oh why, can't the BBC announcers pronounce his name correctly??? It's *one* syllable and it rhymes with "High"! Jeez-Louise.

Goodbye; 'tis I who am high on Nighy.
