It is no secret that Bill Nighy loves his cup of Yorkshire tea.
So it’s not a bad choice of Yorkshire Tea to have Bill Nighy narrating TV ads for Yorkshire Tea to encourage consumers to think again about the quality of the brew they drink.
All the ads, which are on national UK television from the July 24, end with the tagline “Yorkshire Tea. Try it. You’ll see”.
And you’ll hear, Bill Nighy, good choice.
This is what Bill had to say about what he would do if the world was going to end in 12 minutes:
I’d put the kettle on for a cup of Yorkshire tea (they owe me money!), I’d put on a Stones’ record (don’t ask me which one, or if you forced me, Sticky Fingers), then I would phone my dogs and see how they were doing and say goodbye, formally; and then I’d reach for some poems …

Mmm. Just heard that silky-smooth Darjeeling voice o’ Bill’s on this ad. Think I’ll go make a cup of…. Lipton tea! They don’t see the Yorkshire stuff here, though I’d sure buy it if they did.
