Meerkat Manor ****

REEL YOU IN

The opening introduction gives each individual meerkat names like Flower, Mitch and Tosca. With each name is a quip that gives a personality to each meerkat like ‘rebellious’ or ‘honest’.

There is a bossy mother meerkat called Flower, and a father meerkat who stays very close to Flower’s side and is charged with protecting the family. The scriptwriters and editors might as well have been soap opera veterans because they know how to tell a story that will reel you in.

There is even a Desperate Housewives-like subplot about a lusty rival meerkat from another family called Carlos who romances all the females in the family. There is also Shakespeare, a meerkat who survives a snake bite, but crawls back to the den on the brink of death. His sister stays close by, while keeping an eye out for predators.

Like a soap opera, you have to tune in next week to find out Shakespeare’s fate, or who got Tosca, Flower’s daughter, pregnant and so on.

Add Bill Nighy’s voice to all this, and you know we can look forward to some really entertaining hours.

Meerkat Manor is a great show, it’s really like a soap opera, I got so interested in this show that if I miss one show, I’m going to …….. well you guys are doing well, Its amazing to see that Shakespear actually lived trhu that Puffadder bite, he is by far my favourite meerkat of the lot, but with all the meerkats on the show in the Whiskers group, my reptiles got some names;Zaphod, Flower, Mitch, Mozart

    Great work mates
