I appreciate the fact that films are done in KENYA, especially internationally recognised ones like Constant Gardener, which featured some of my collegues and close friends. Indeed, we are even happier when we hear that the same movies are nominated and will be getting Oscars soon. But it distresses me and many other Kenyans when the only thing that can be shown about Kenya, our very beautiful country, is just sprawling slums! We have beautiful beaches, all sorts of wildlife, rare species in fact. Did you see all these? did you do your homework well? I’m pissed off when our country is portrayed in such a bad light to the world like that. I LOVE KENYA… and the way it is! The MTV Movie ‘Transit’ did that, and it is not going down too well with Constant Gardener! Up to when?
    Patriotic Kenyan, MOSH!

Well this is a difficult one. The story in the Constant Gardener is more about dirty politics in London than about the Kenya wildlife, true. I still think that the film did show some of the beauty of the country as there were some very beautiful nature shots from the air.

And did you know that the actors from the film has created a fund to support education in the places they have filmed ? They give a little bit back that way …

Have your say
